Veggie Goodness!

Hey Foodies! How's it going?

In this entry, we will be introducing a Filipino dish that is savoury and healthy--GUARANTEED!

If you are one of those many people who is interested in food that has a unique taste, then this is definitely the dish for you!


This right here is a Filipino Vegetable Stew. In the Philippines, we call it Pinakbet!

Would you just have a look at that! Isn't it just too colourful to eat?

As what can be observed in the photos, the pinakbet is a combination of a lot of vegetables. That's why it is guaranteed to be a healthy dish!


Here are some of the vegetables that are needed to cook a pinakbet:

  • Squash
  • onion
  • eggplant
  • long beans
  • zucchini
  • okra


However, you can definitely add some of your favourite vegetables into this dish. After all, cooking isn't just about following the instructions. It's about creating your own!

Having that said, the key ingredient that makes this dish unique is the bagoong.


I have to say, the bagoong is an acquired taste. Not everyone likes when they try it for the first time because of its fishy taste, but after a while, you will learn to love it. Just like me!
