Who has a sweet tooth?

How's it going foodies? Hope everything has been well with you!

In this post, we will be introducing to you a sweet Filipino dessert packed with a lot of elements!


It is called "Halo-halo".




"Halo" is a filipino word which means 'mix' in english. The name for this dessert is pretty much self-explanatory. A halo-halo is basically a popular filipino dessert which is a combination of heaps of elements, hence its name.

It is composed of sweet and tasty ingredients which makes it the number favourite dessert of most Filipinos!


Here are some of the top elements of a "Halo-halo":


  • kaong (sweet palm fruit)
  • macapuno (silky coconut)
  • langka (jackfruit)
  • munggo(mung beans)
  • saba (banana-like plantain)
  • ube (purple yam)
  • mais (corn)
  • nata de coco (coconut gelatin)
  • pinipig (dried rice, pounded)
  • sago (pearls similar to boba)

Every time i go visit the Philippines, i never miss to have one or two of these.

So if you get a chance to visit this beautiful country, spare some time to try a bowl of Halo-halo! It is perfect for the warm and sunny weather up there. And i assure you, you will not regret it!
